Fostering relationships and enhancing experiences

The College of Arts & Sciences Dean’s Advisory Council (CASDAC) is comprised of alumni, academic leaders, and business leaders who provide a high level of volunteer service to the College and University.  The Council’s mission is to advise and assist the Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences on matters related to nurturing relationships between the College and its graduates and wider community, to enhance the current student experience within the College, and to assist in the garnering of financial support. 

Roles and Responsibilities

The College of Arts and Sciences Deans Advisory Council (CASDAC) is comprised of alumni, academic and business leaders, parents, and friends of the College, who provide a high level of volunteer service and philanthropic support to the College and University.

The Council’s primary role is to support the efforts of the Dean, faculty and staff of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), based on priorities outlined by the Dean, and in conjunction with the Universitys strategic direction. The CASDAC shares the Colleges focus on enhancing the current student experience within the CAS.

The Council serves at the request of the Dean and offers a sounding board, providing advice as appropriate and helping shape the direction of the Colleges funding priorities. The CASDAC helps ensure the College has the resources to achieve its goals by being a source of financial support and by referring other potential supporters.

Another function of the CASDAC is to assist with building stakeholder engagement (stakeholders include alumni, academic and business leaders, parents, and friends of the College). In addition, the CASDAC helps promote the activities and accomplishments of the College, providing enhanced recognition among students, alumni, donors, employers, professionals, and the community.
